the game system doesn't particularly lend itself to a good simulation of early renaissance warfare, so in terms of design, it has been a struggle. but the problems raised are interesting and solving them is a good challenge.

one of the most pressing is how to represent the swiss. they did not deploy in a pike square in southern italy because enemy heavy cavalry was few (and whatever there was would be picked up by french gendarmes).

Seminara finished. Most of the design focused on making sure the Swiss couldn't roll over the rodeleros without taking a beating in the process.

Cerignola finished. The great problem was how to model the Spanish field works. Eventually, after many trials, accessory counters proved best suited.

Fornovo will rely heavily on my own FoG scenario (Seminara and Cerignola started out that way but ended up taking different turns)

This has been a complex project that required heavy design and modifications to the way the game engine works. But in the end, the historical value is worth the effort.
