A good game and closer than the score suggests. I attacked hard on my left flank before all the Catholic cavalry could sweep around my right. It sort of worked but I had to pull back forces to shore up my right before it collapsed completely. Thanks cromlechi for a good exciting game.

My Catholics [9.1 pts] triumphed over Doyley's Swedes [1 pt], 10% to 41%.

The Swedes hung back, while the Catholics advanced their cavalry on both flanks. The battle on the Catholic right went back and forth, but their left eventually swept their opponents from the field.

The Catholic infantry eventually moved to attack, but before they were able to close, the Swedes broke.

Well-fought game by Doyley. I don't know what I would have done differently in his place. Seems like the Catholic were just meant to win this one.

Thanks for the game. The map was almost perfect for Parliament with bad terrain (forest and rough ground) on both flanks to pretty much neutralist the Royalist mounted advantage. With superior numbers the Parliamentarian foot were able to stop the Royalist foot in its tracks and then to decimate it.

My Catholics (8.7) managed to beat Hrothgar's Swedes (3.1) 31% /58%. I held my infantry back while the cavalry fought it out on the flanks, my left flank were thrashed but the right prevailed. When the infantry clashed I was lucky and the Catholic foot won the firefight, and were assisted by the right flank cavalry. Thanks Hrothgar for an enjoyable game and well played. I thought I was going to lose.

I hope I have got the sums right......

This battle was decided on both flanks. In the Swedish top quality center he could break my defense, but fortunately the flanks yielded quickly.

TheGrayMouser (Spanish) (19%) 9.1 pts win vs Cavehobbit (French) (50%) 1.9 pts

The Spanish were surprised the French had surprisingly few cavalry and had loaded up on landsnecte and Swiss Mercs. The Spanish massed cavalry on our right, supported by a tercio swiftly over ran the few gendarmes deployed, meanwhile the Spanish light foot and horse beat on the less numerous French lights. Our remaining tercio and merc kiel stayed as far back as possible to reduce casualties from the massed artillery the French had. The French heavies , lead by the Swiss came charging down on these two units., a sole kiel turning back to aid the falling French Gendarmes. This Kiel was pounded by light foot arquebusiers and was surprisingly quickly disordered and fragged by fire and then routed by the Sole Spanish tercio in the area. If not for that , the battle could have swung in the opposite direction as the French Swiss were chewing apart the Spanish heavies.

A good game with cavalry from both sides facing each other across a valley. I charged across and eventually managed to gain the upper hand. Meanwhile I was desperately trying to avoid Spanish 2 keils + 2 early tercios with my 3 keils (including 1 of raw troops), in the centre. Thought I'd lost it but the 2 Spanish keils broke at the end. Thanks for a great game!
