so fess-up and let the banter begin....

So what's on people's short lists for Britcon 2015?

Me. My short-long list is:
Plains Indians, Central American something but not Inca or Aztec, Qin, Central African types, Cossacks/Kuruc and my outsider is D&G's later Swedes/Austrians/Germans....

Not sure it's possible to take a game too seriously Nigel.

You're going to have to turn up in Manchester with something spectacular if you're to stand a chance of repairing the damage done to your reputation at the Challenge.

I have been using Later Louis XIV French and they have been lots of fun. On the flip I had a taste for something a bit more direct and ordered an Early Thirty Years War Swedish army from Damian a couple of weeks ago which is definitely more quality than quantity (2 elite BGs for goodness sake). Not sure what I'll take to Britcon but the French are at least painted. so are in teh driving seat at the moment.

Behave yourself now. We Scots do not mind buying a drink for an English man but why waste good whisky.

Please note that John means what he says. During the entire history of the Scots race, between them they have clubbed together and brought one English man one drink... And they have never stopped regretting it...

Well I was going to do something crazy and exciting (sorry, I mean stupid), and bring Hungarians, but it was all cavalry, artillery and no infantry. But the Britcom rules have probably saved me from myself, so I am back with the French TYW.

Well I take Britcon serioulsy enough but the Britcon anals demonstrate ably the level of my committment - or ability - to bagging a podium placing. So let me be the second to declare now that all the lists are in. Despite 10 months of decent form with Later Louis XIV and a decentish 7th with Later TYW German at BC14 I have plumped or an army I've only played once in morphed form and which I've now almost fininshed painting. I screwed up my order to Donnington Damian and ended up 2 figures short - an error I hope to correct at Claymore on Saturday!

I have elected to go with the Later Imperial Spanish folks in the hope that all those elites and superiors willl act as a counterweight to my obvious incompetence.

Hunter, as a civil servant I am sure you are very familiar with setting achievable targets. Considering your recent performances it was only logical that you should reduce your expected place in Britcon history from annals to anal.
