Hube's pocket a4 a5 a6

Post by bhacker »

enric wrote:Hube's pocket gets an update to a6 (probably beta already).

Minor fixes
Include GIVECHARGE action
Great scenario. When I download the .LST I get a4, not a6...and, I see that some people have a5. Where is the .LST for a5 or a6? Many thanks

HUBE'S POCKED

Post by enric »

HUBES'S POCKED

A warning to everybody.

The official version is 1.0 (no beta, alpha etc.)
That version has a back door where some found a way to trick a little, I'll make a new version soon.

The issue is that in deploy mode you may freely load and unload a transport, and putting the transport at the deploy area limit, you may download out of this area, then load and move the transport there and unload out of the area again, so with patience you may finishing deploying anywhere. I feel not fun doing this, but it's a bug so I'll fix it.

I wish to apologize for the inconvenience.

I don't know if enough people have said it Enric, but being new to the MP scene, your SL-based scenarios are truly amazing.

No offense meant to the Slitherine designers, but Enric's scenarios seem much more balanced, and the addition of leaders, ambulances, AFV transport, etc. have really moved BA2 into a much more sophisticated direction. I for one, love it. I'm really looking forward to more hours of metal challenges exploring these games. So, just want to say THANK YOU Enric. Encore!

It's a pleasure to revive my old Squad Leader, and notice how many people also enjoyed it. I'll try to port as many scenarios as possible :D

Balta is official download

Post by enric »

Balta is an official download.

I've developed a new mod, probably included in next scenarios. The mod try to give some more fog of war.

You could not be able to know if an enemy closed transport is loaded or not. So, when you inspect an enemy truck you will not be able to see inside.
But, if an infantry is loaded in a tank then you could see the unit.

Feedback is welcome.

The new Sowchos

Post by enric »

Sowchos 2 is a new scenario that keep the original reinforcements and forces from Squad Leader.
Basically the change is that the elements of the Russian armored Corp enter from the East and reach the village immediately.

New features:
  • All hold Fire
Added, at the advanced panel, an option to Put all units to hold fire.
I found myself, in some scenarios, putting all units to hold fire at start, and when you have 25 or 30 units…
    Hold.jpg
    Hold.jpg (62.7 KiB) Viewed 5420 times
  • Added at the list of units an icon to show which leader has the radio.
    list.jpg
    list.jpg (82.99 KiB) Viewed 5420 times
  • Hold fire at half range
This is a new action, jut to put an unit to hold fire, but only while the target is more than half range away.
    half.jpg

  • More "fog of war". BA allow to know what is loaded in an enemy truck, I found this a too much Secret Service.
Now you won't be able to see if a closed transport, truck or halftrack, is loaded or not, only units loaded on an open transport will be visible, for example, an infantry on a tank.

Hube balance

Post by Celeborn »

Absolutely love scenario but seems unwinnable for Germans...too many ways for Russians to infiltrate units through perimeter. What are other's experience? I' m thinking either reduce Russian forces and/or exit #

Ps bravo Enric!

I won as Russian and lost as Russian, and the same as German, so it should be balanced :D

Seriously, between average players it's very balanced, many games finish in the last turn having still both sides possibilities till then.

I see Russian winning by eliminating all German units several times. And remember that Russian need just to kill 7 trucks.
It's a big map and there are much strategies The Russian may force his right side to get the entry of the trucks, or the opposite go down as quick to block the second road exit, or just distribute forces. The German did not know the Russian tactic so…

And don't forget that luck it's in play in BA. Luck means: a good shot in the precise place, guessing the enemy strategy, a tank that bogged in a bad time, an impossible missing shot, ...it's not Chess, every turn there are a lot of dice so next turn will be different each game.

I'm glad you like the scenarios.

Hello All,
Only a few words about this great Enric's recreations of our much remembered SL escenarios:
My point is Hube,s pocket is one of the better games I ever played in BA... But also is very demanding with the skill level of the players!
Honestly, I thing there,s considerable chances for the Germán players. In fact, playing with germans I won all my games until this moment; assuming there,s no terrain to keep for a long time, but only the time needed to protect the pass of the convoy trucks. You must move your forces as a bubble, always keeping a cohesive number of units toghether in order to face the (relatively) unpredictable russian strategy. About this issue, there are three / four key points in the map where you must prevail in different turns of the game. The only way to achieve this is open your way in strenght.

Regards

R.

Are you the person that has created all these Squad Leader scenarios? I just wanted to say 'thank you'. My favourite board game was probably Squad Leader (prior to ASL) when it came out, a friend and I used to play all the scenarios. I've not played them for 30yrs I think, it's just fantastic to play them again. Fine effort, well done :D

The Agony of Doom

Post by enric »

This is a new scenario following an Avisnigra suggestion.

Based on Squad Leader 101 scenario happens in the late period of WWII, April 1945. The Third Reich was near its end, but near Muncherberg the Germans momentarily mounted a semblance of organized defense agains the rolling 8th Guards Army, coming with these big Soviet tanks.
