The E rotate key works fine, but when you press the Q key the map doesn't rotate and red numbers appear in profusion in the upper left-hand corner.
This never happened before, and it is only happening with the Steam version. I have a non-Steam beta test version and it is not having this problem. To make sure it wasn't something on my end I uninstalled the game from Steam and re-installed it. I've just noticed it tonight for the first time, but the last few times I visited the game I wasn't using the Steam version (so there would have been nothing for me to notice.
Is something happening with Steam that is interfering with the Steam version's installation?
I can provide screen shots if necessary.

Just to make double sure I went back and verified the integrity of the installation in Steam properities. That must have done the trick, because now everything is working again.

I spoke too soon. Just tried it again and now the red numbers are back, and the map can only rotate in one direction.

It sounds like your SHIFT key is stuck down in some way. Note that you can also rotate with the cursor keys.

I'd forgotten about the direction keys, that helps.
The keyboard is relatively new and this issue isn't happening with any other game.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

The long red number in the top row changes if I keep the key depressed. I can usually toggle the effect off by a single tap of the Q key, but I've still lost the rotate functionality with that one key most of the time.

SHIFT-Q is what turns those red numbers on or off.Philippe_at_bay wrote:I'd forgotten about the direction keys, that helps.

Re: Q - rotate key suddenly stopped working in Steam version
Many thanks. I knew you knew the answer.
I thought it was perhaps a Steam problem and that turning off the overlay (done inside Steam Properties) might help.
What do those numbers actually mean ?

No idea for most of them. The top left number is the FPS but only shows the true figure in Windowed Mode. It is regulated at 60 in Full Screen mode.Philippe_at_bay wrote:What do those numbers actually mean ?
