Australian gunboat/light cruiser

Post by Erik2 »

Playing a custom multiplayer scenario.
When I open the scenario in the editor, the ships are available.
In the game they are not available for purchase.

It's one of the few generic units, but it's set to nopurchase - for all nations ;)

But you can simply remove the "nopurchase" trait in units.txt if needed.

I'd like to know the reason why you can't purchase a light cruiser, looks like an oversight to me.
(I understand the no-purchase of supply ships and I don't care about the gun-boat :D ).

I remember reading a word here about "maybe" light cruisers in the future.
I know the British Leander-class was taken for the generic light cruiser ship model. I'm curious what the classes or names of the other generic ship models are.

The gunboat is based on the Japanese Ataka type, the support ship on the "repair ship" Akashi. The supply ship is a more generic old tanker.

Thanks for the info, Bebro! My guess with the Akashi was correct, but the gunboat was too difficult to figure out.
