Just wondering if any of you have ever heard of the Campaign series from Talonsoft:
East Front
West Front
Rising Sun
There were several editions of each, when I bought them many years ago I got the pack with all 3 and they were the latest editions. All the units are platoon sized so the scale is set in stone. One of the things I didn't like about it was that you cannot replace any units or "reinforce" them by repairing strength points. Other than that they were awesome TBS games.
EDIT:
I found them for sale through a different brand - http://www.matrixgames.com/products/318 ... ign.Series

Re: Talonsoft?
The whole reason I brought this up is, I would love to see these games revamped with the engine from OOB. Using supply lines and efficiency like in OOB (and the ability to replace troops). Although they did have a supply line aspect, I never thought it was very good.
Though because of the way the game is played it might make more sense to pull a unit from the front to give it replacements, it would still make it much better!

Just for clarification, an idea for the future, obviously the devs are busy with OOB and will be for quite a while.
Re: Talonsoft?
Hi Decaff, I love the Campaign series and even wrote a few scenarios for it. The scale is different though with most scenarios only representing a few hours or a couple of days at most. So for me I think the units have their intrinsic supply. The game is really a port of the old Avalon Hill Panzer Blitz/Leader games. Matrix are still making these games at the moment.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Talonsoft?
I have all the Talonsoft games you mentioned Decaff. A revamp of them would be interesting. The only fault with them as I recall was that they were very slow, as the computer AI took a long time to complete its turn. I will check out Matrix to see what they have done with these games.

I also bought the series a long time back. In fact I think I still have them on one of my computers. I enjoyed them at the time. I bought every game I could get my hands on hoping for something that would be a well constructed game. It's funny how various games each have good points. I wish one game would incorporate all of the good features.
