Fighting in two directions...

Can anyone help with this one, please?

If a BG in a single rank gets attacked in both front and rear, does it count the minus for fighting in two directions in melee? I ask because the rear attackers won't actually get any dice thrown against them so, technically (or however you want to term it), they don't do any fighting to their rear...

Hi Chris

It does indeed get the minus for fighting in 2 directions and eligible bases from both attacking BG's will fight in melee even if the defending BG fights back with no dice.

Seems sensible as why should one of the attacking BG's be penalised just because the defender cannot put up a fight back.
