Another unusual break off question

Post by Ninthplain »

In this weekends game a group of Lancer Cav hit a 6 BG of Legionaires in a 2 by 2 grouping

..CC..
..CC..
L.L.L

Since they were not in a single line, no break off. a couple of turns later they are down to one row due to failed death roles.

The question is, in the next JAP phase do they now break-off since they are in a single row? They are Superior cav so have not auto-broken.

You do not have to be in a single line for Cavalry to break off.

Are you perhaps confusing Break Off with Evade? (However, lancer cavalry cannot evade as they are shock troops.)

The lancers will break off regardless of their formation if the foot remain steady.
