Is it possible to run Star Hammer without Steam client?

Is it possible to run the Steam Mac version of Star Hammer without starting up Steam Mac client? I know it is possible with some games.

If you buy from Steam, it will only run then Steam is running. However you can also download from Slitherine, and use the same key as purchased from Steam, and that version runs outside of Steam (obviously without using Cloud Saves and Steam Achievements).

I just bought from Steam and registered the key here but I can't find where I can download it from Slitherine.

I asked the same question on Twitter and was told that I have to buy from Slitherine in order to download from Slitherine.

I'm sorry, but although we are aiming at having future games be cross-compatible with the Steam key and the Slitherine Keys this is not the case with Starhammer. If you want the offline installer, then you do need to purchase from the Slitherine site, whereas the Steam version is only able to be used via Steam, although you can run Steam in offline mode. I'm sorry for this.
