Collector's Edition keeps crashing

I'm having nothing but trouble with the Collector's edition. It was working fine until I got to the scenario "Defending Minos Crossing", at which point, the game started crashing almost every turn. I installed the update yesterday, after which I couldn't even load the save position for that scenario any more. I decided that maybe the save file was corrupted and went back to the beginning of the tutorial scenarios. Now the game has crashed in the second tutorial. It's always when I fire a weapon, though not always the same unit.

Another crash in the middle of a tutorial mission, and now I'm getting the in-game message "Cannot load saved" position when I try to load the last autosave. Is there anything I can be doing to help move things along?
