BA2 Update Dialog Error

Fyi when I run "Check for Updates" from the BA2 Game Menu (what's launched when you double-click to start the game; not the in-game Main Menu) I get an error trying to access the server; see the attachment.

I was a EAP purchaser, uninstalled that, installed v1.0 and have no other issues, including logging into the PBEM++ server and playing games. However if I try to check for updates externally, I get that message.

I didn't know if it's something on the server side or with my local install. I would guess it's something server side.

Sorry you are having problems - I'll check with the team what is going on but will probably not get fixed till next week. There are no updates yet so just ignore it.

Thanks Ian. It's easily worked around since when I log into multilayer it does a version check and offers me Thr ability to download a patch. This was more fyi in case it was a problem and Slitherine was unaware of it.

Ah I mired the bit about EAP - yes the EAP wasn't set up for updates. This should be ok once you are on the release version but let us know if not.

Hi Ian, no you got it correct the first time. The screen capture above is from the Release version, not the EAP. From what I remember there was no updater in the EAP version; it was patched when logging into Multiplayer.

The error above is when you launch the Game Menu dialog upon first execution, before going into the actual game, and you "check for updates." I installed v1.0.0 on another laptop that never had the EAP installed on it and I also got the same error message when trying to check for updates.

Otherwise everything runs fine once inside the game. I hope I clarified that better.

I get the same error when I launch the game. First, the game tells me there's an update available (I have version 1.0.0). When I try to update the game via the game menu "check for updates" button, I get the same message as Iron Fist.

I can play the single player, but I need the update in order to play MP.

Is there any solution yet?
