Pursuit and Contact

At the end of a melee a unit breaks and does a variable move. It is pursued but the pursuers don't contact it but they do contact an unbroken BG of skirmishers. This contact is resolved in the next impact phase. Question is do the skirmishers have an opportunity to evade and if so when do they do it? Also, if they do evade, presumably the pursuers continue to the full extent of their VM, again when is this done?

I believe this is in the pursuit rules. Those who would normally be able to evade a charge, evade a pusuit also.

Those who are able to evade and are about to be contacted by pursuers have the choice to make and if they choose evade and get caught it's woe is them!...they shouldn't have been so close or left it so late to start running! The evade attempt and pursuit are moved there and then, if they get caught, it counts as an impact so ( I think ) the combat is done in the next impact phase? If the light troops don't get caught, ( I believe ) they still have all the normal options as soon as it's their side's bound again?

If the pursuit is in the impact phase, do the combat immediately, otherwise in the following impact phase.
