What does Warscale mean, please? It is not explained in the manual for some reason.
This shows up at the bottom of the mission results screen. What does it mean, and how does it affect the campaign, please?
This also shows up at the bottom of the mission select screen. There is a shield at the left end of the scale, and a targeting reticle at the right end of the scale. What does this mean, please?
What is Warscale?

Re: What is Warscale?
I think it is an aggressive or defensive trait, acquired by the type of mission undertaken.FroBodine wrote:What does Warscale mean, please? ...
Re: What is Warscale?
Warscale is how you act not only before battle, as your crew effects your Warscale with the settings used, but also how you fight

Re: What is Warscale?
That is still pretty vague. What exactly does it affect? How does it affect how I fight? If I am giving all the commands, what does aggressive or defensive do?
This is a part of the game that is very unexplained. I get so frustrated when developers write a nice manual, but leave out important things like this.

Re: What is Warscale?
I read on one of the screens early on that it'll affect the paths of the game, down the line. I suspect there'll be two paths. Still I expect someone in Oz will be looking in here before too long ... to put me right.
Re: What is Warscale?
Some mission paths are only accessible if you have high enough defensive or offensive points, they also affect some different stats which you can see by mousing over the bar at the bottom of the mission select screen. Once it's time to choose a path you can mouse over the icons and certain ones will tell you that X amount of defensive/offensive points are needed to play this set of missions. I don't know exactly what determines your defensive/offensive point gains for each mission though, the only thing I've read regarding it was from a dev saying something along the lines of using a lot of missiles gets you more defensive points, which then increases your resupply rate, which then allows you to use more missiles...

Re: What is Warscale?
Thank you all for the explanations.
Re: What is Warscale?
You control a single strike group in larger war, and warscale measures your impact on the overall war. It's calculated based on your actions, and as mentioned, impacts your options for chapters available, as well as other bonuses (the tooltip when you point your mouse at the warscale bar on the mission selection screen will tell you exactly which bonuses).
