Movement waypoints or multi-directional movement

Post by FroBodine »

Unless I am missing something, I don't see a way to set waypoints within one movement impulse. For example, I set my ships to full engines, so I have quite a bit of maneuvering room. I want to move my ship partway in one direction, then turn in another direction for the remainder of the movement impulse. How do you do this?

The game forces your ship to continue turning left or right, for example. I want to start my movement with a left turn, then turn right for the rest, as sort of a sideslip maneuver.

Not being able to do this is a major bummer and really reduces the amount of tactical movement you can do.

I hope there is a way to do this, and I'm just missing how.

Thank you!

Well, that is very unfortunate. A lot of tactical opportunities are missed without this option.

Please consider adding waypoints or multi-movement paths during one movement impulse. Otherwise, sideslips are impossible!

I like this game, I'm having a blast playing it, but I HATE that my ships are forced to turn in one direction when moving left or right. I want to be able to move left, but end up facing right, for example. Having to slow way down and perform this during multiple impulses defeats the purpose. I don't want to slow down, but I want to perform advanced maneuvers. This is very, very limiting to movement options.
