game will not run

so i was playing the usa campign and after i finished the senerio i had a historical popup "hornets sting" it wouldnt let me advance the campign so i went and reinstalled the hot fix again that came out a couple of weeks ago when this issue first came up, now the game wont even run. i get an error message. (failed to initialize player, under details it reads, could....not preload global game manager #0 i=0). this is my 8th run through my 4th time playing the usa side and have never run into the problem.

What hotfix? The one before the patch?
Try reinstalling the last patch. You can download it from the link below:

Once you have downloaded the file please unzip it. Run the extracted file to update the game.

well i downloaded it but windows wont open it. i tried clicking on it to extract the files and windows says it cant and i dont see an "unzip file" button anywhere. thought i just had to click on it to unzip things. guess ill have to try and reinstall the game.

thanks. i reinstalled the game and updated it and it works now and i didnt lose any of my saved games which i thought i would. dont know what happened before but the game wouldnt run. maybe something with the opening video, maybe it would load and run it. ive had that happen before with other games that open with a little "movie" sequence. anyway all is good in the land of games again. cant wait for a grand campign version with 10 or 12 senerios per year like with pzc.

Hmmm....
I just finished a US scenario of the campaign, but had a "blue screen", when exiting to desktop.
After that, I tried to re-start, but I am getting only a black screen.
Any reasons for this?
The program is not the most stable one, I have to say.

Now I de-installed and installed again.
Then, tried to update. For a second I saw version 1.7.0 (?) as an .exe, but then the download failed with an error-message.

And the outcome is still the same: Black screen for at least 2 minutes. Then I interrupted.

And the solution seems to be (for starting and update download): Renaming the settings folder in ... MY GAMES / OOB-P...
Probably it can be deleted afterwards. Will know it in a few minutes.
