Windows 10 and Directx 12

Post by demyansk »

Hi,

I recently received a notification on my system tray about an upgrade for windows 10. What does everyone think about the new windows system and gaming? Plus, I read a few articles on the Directx 12 and it might make our graphic cards work better?

Any suggestions or insight on what is coming in July 2015?

from the beta i'd say it's a good idea, what i don't like but is yet to really answered, is, what happens in a few years time?

as M/S seems to be going down the 365 route of charging for stuff on a yearly basis, atm it says it's a free upgrade for all users of win 7 and win 8, but won't say what it's life is, how long etc?

Directx 12 won't have any effect on war games, as no one will support it, so any speed benefits it give won't apply to those games, while is still will work, the difference i would had made is only in games that are coded and designed to use it from day one, and war games in the near future won't be

Anything that runs on newer PCs is sure to run on the new system AFAIK

I'm still using XP and a screen from like 1998, so I'm not going to bother with the update though.
