AI repairs ships at sea

Post by apec »

I noticed that AI sometimes repairs its ships at sea without using support ships. Normally the repaired ship gets 1 strenght point but then its defense seems to drop and becomes highly vulnerable to any following attack. Does anyone noticed the same?

I think Cruisers and Battleships (and Carriers?) can do this, something to do with damage control.

Ships that are down to 1-3 strength points (I think) can repair themselves.

Thanks Rood.
I can confirm that also carriers do this, however I am still wondering why the repaired ship becomes so vulnerable I guess this is WAD but was curious to know why.

Thanks Erik. That explains why I did not observed this option on my damaged ships i.e. not enough damaged for damage control to be active.
