Make ending the campaign scenario optional

Hey awesome game, only one thing that is annoying. I finished my primary objectives in Bataan, had 15 turns left on the clock and had the secondary objective to take the island on the bottom. I didn't know that it wouldn't let me continue and I thought I would be able to use my remaining time to finish the secondary objective, can you please change it so you can opt in to continue the scenario?
