Puzzling mission outcome
I don't understand why the completion of a mission was announced as a defeat. I played the Phillipine Sea Scenario as the Allies. I didn't lose any transports and I repelled the Japanese fleet (although I only destroyed on carrier). And I cleared the land-based material. Why was this mission declared a defeat? Did I need to engage the Japanese fleet more?
Re: Puzzling mission outcome
In other words, could you explain the Allied victory conditions for Phillipine Sea? I don't understand why the game announced a defeat when (i) I did not lose any transports and (ii) the Japanese navy was retreating from the map.
Re: Puzzling mission outcome
Can you upload a savegame of this mission? Might be a bug or poor design in the victory conditions.
Re: Puzzling mission outcome
Same outcome for me in Philippines campaign.
Destroyed all 3 Carriers
Protected Transports
Didnt lose any carriers
2 Saves attached.

Re: Puzzling mission outcome
Same issue for me as well.
Re: Puzzling mission outcome
Same kind of screwy result for me playing Midway (U.S).
I sank ALL enemy carriers, demolished the Midway invasion fleet, shot down all enemy planes (that I could find), sank numerous enemy surface ships & subs.
I DID NOT lose a carrier, in fact I don't remember losing a single plane, although I might have...
By turn 31, I had planes scouting the entire western side of the map & couldn't find anything to attack. I returned all my planes to their carriers for repairs for the next scenario and get the following "Defeat" message.
DEFEAT
"While code breaking allowed us to be fully prepared, we have failed to achieve any meaningful success against the Japanese fleet".
WHAT????? #$#@$%$ I can't even continue, since the campaign came to a forced END!
Can someone PLEASE explain this ridiculous result? Even IF I missed some silly secondary goal, the scenario is a resounding success, NOT a defeat!

same issue for me. US Midway scenario.
Re: Puzzling mission outcome
Yeah, seems a bug, it's listed in the "patch on route" thread.
Players who don't want to wait for the patch could use a cheatcode when they achieved their goals to still progress in the campaign.
To do so you need to:
. press shift - C for the console, activate the field to enter text by mouseclick
- enter #igotnukes
This gives an instant victory.

Is there any way to add more turns?bebro wrote:Yeah, seems a bug, it's listed in the "patch on route" thread.

Re: Puzzling mission outcome
You can extend the scenario end turn using this code:
#overtime x
Where x is the number of turns you want add. NB this will not affect victory conditions, so if you complete all primary objectives before the turn limit, the scenario will still end.
