POD B RESULT:

TGM's Italians victory vs Flatsix's French

The French army was bottlenecked in a valley surrounded by primeval forests, they advanced bravely while the italian light horde entered the woods and poured enfilading fire upon them from both flanks. The survivors that cleared the woods rapidly overran the Italien artillery. The italien troops, perhaps now too confident as their commander began drinking mulled beer to celebrate, made quite a few mistakes and got slaughtered by the angry French and swiss mercs that caught them. The battle could have turned but by the time the Swiss made contact with the Italian heavies, they had had enough of the gnat stings of the light foot and horse that buzzed around them, and left the field. Cheers for the game sir!

Pod B Result

TGM Turks victory vs Rumguffs' Imperials

With a well placed stream to guard(hide behind) the Janissaries with their artillery support held back the Imperial infantry, the Sipahis were able to isolate and destroy the Imperial cavalry wing. Not much else the mighty but slow tercios could do after that.
Thanks for the game!

In a very hard-fought battle, in which I lost both of my pike formations to the Swiss, I managed to eke out a narrow victory over Flatsix.

53% loss to my Italians to the French 64%.

Routing two of his fleeing cavalry on the last turn finally decided the thing.

Pod B result

Hutze won (Catholics 1632-38) 20% vs. 49% rumguff (Ottomans 1630-48)

After much manouvring a charge of Catholic veteran horse into the rear of the janissaries wiped out most of the Ottoman line.
Thanks for the match rumguff

TGM and Khan,

Sorry about the slow pick up on your games.

Both challenges are armies I've never played, so it is taking me a little longer than normal to decide.

I'll try to pick up a bit.
