Strategic map!!

Post by FroBodine »

Ok, call me slow. I just found the strategic map by right-clicking on the mini-map. Yes, it's in the manual, and I have been reading the manual as I come across things that I want to research further.

So, anyone else who is slow like me and hasn't found the strategic map yet, it is a thing of beauty! I really missed it from Panzer Corps, and now I have it. This game gets better every time I play!

Is there a way to make the unit selection interface go away when viewing the strategic map? Or to make the bottom of the strategic map move above the unit selection interface by mousing down? Otherwise (at least on my laptop) the bottom of the strategic map is obscured.

I found the Strategic Map also by reading the manual (after the Manilla scenario). Really helps to pick out aircraft locations especially.
One thing needs to be added (which was in PG): left clicking on the Strategic Map takes you to that location on the battle map.
Devs, that would be a big help.
Time was invented so that everything didn't happen at once.

Thanks for telling, FroBodine! Right click it is... hmm! :) Maybe "M" as shortcut would be nice, too.

I switched page up/down to N and P for next unit/previous unit. As I am used to from PzCorps.

About the strategic map, it's hard to see the VP's (golden rings) on the scenario after Guadalcanal, US campaign (I can't recall the exact name of the scenario).
There is supposed to be 3 to capture but I see only 2, and this either on the big map or the strategic map.

As I'm about to start this scenario I'd like to locate the third one before I get involved in this big one (55 turns)...

Somebody can help? Thanks.

BTW you can just click on the blue "?" icon in front of the "Capture all VPs" objective and it'll display a panel with "next" and "previous" button to toggle through all the VP locations.

Yes, a hotkey for the strategic map would be great. I think it was tab or F5 in Panzer Corps. I prefer the tab key, but whatever.

I agree, the Map needs a hotkey and support for clicking on the map centers the view at that spot. To top off maybe we even can have mouseovers for cities names and terrain features?
