game slowdown

Hi
During some sessions the game slows down to the point of being unplayable. Saving the game and reloading doesn't fix it. Sometimes you can play for a long time before it happens and sometimes it is quite soon after the start. I'm running an i7 with a decent Nvidia card and tons of memory so I shouldn't have a hardware issue. Any thoughts?

Are you perchance playing the invasion of Java?
In the Patch en route thread it says there's a framerate issue with the dutch APC.
That was the only slowdown as serious as the one you describe for me so far.

Saving, quitting the game and then reloading usually fixes this for a while, and I got through the mission going through this routine about four or five times.
