Going backwards

Post by RobertCL »

Hi,

I just purchased the game.
It has the look of CiV V and most part of gameplay of Pz Corps. Very nice.
I regret the absence of standalone scenario (e.g. only Pearl Harbor, or Midway or Okinawa, or invasion of Japan).

However I have a real problem: in Pz Corps you can move a unit and unless you spot any AI unit, you can cancel your move (using a backwards icon) and move somewhere else.

I have not seen this function here. Is it done on purpose ?

Then I have not found yet the possibility to repair aircrafts on carriers although I can repar the carrier itself...

Hi Robert
Maybe I can help you. At this time there is no cancel move button. As to the planes, when you are over or within a hex of the carrier, you will see a button in white on the carrier info panel. I believe it looks like a plane, that is the button to put the plane in the ships hangar. As long as there is space it will land, and next turn you can repair it.

As soon as you complete a scenario in the campaign it becomes available as standalone scenario in the singleplayer menu.

If you want however, download and extract this file to your <documents>\My Games\Order of Battle - Pacific\Settings folder:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ybmjbj9hpa8l ... d.zip?dl=0

That will unlock all scenarios right away. Personally I think it sort of ruins the surprise of encountering these scenarios in the campaign first, but it's up to you :)

Thx a lot to everyone.

Absence of cancel move will force the player to be extra cautious. Cancel move button should be added to my humble opinion.

Yes downloading the package it will ruin the game surprise. Anyway I download it just in case I cannot win at the easiest difficulty settings.

I shall try to repair my aircrafts. I am right now playing the tutorial campaign (navy part).

From what I have seen so far it is clear that there will be no Pacific campaign for Pz Corps since the new developments for naval combat in OOB Pacific make this game designed for the Pacific conflict.

I shall be happy to see designers making a Russian campaign in 1945 attacking Mandchuria with a what if part (attack of Japan itself and a potential conflict with USA...).

I have also seen I can't update my core units between scenarios (I mean before starting a new one) unlike Pz Corps.
