Spinning Japanese flag animation

Post by FroBodine »

I just saw a YouTube video of the Pearl Harbor mission, and during every Japanese A.I. turn, there is a horribly distracting and nausea inducing spinning Japanese flag animation.

I really hope this is not in the final version of the game, because I honestly don't think I can get through a whole game watching this.

Is there a way to turn off that animation, please?

Haven't heard too much complaints about this during the beta, but I've just added the option to disable it. We'll make it available as an optional hotfix on the forums tomorrow.

Thank you so much, adherbal! Tomorrow is my birthday, and I was planning on buying this game as soon as it releases (and I wake up). I didn't want to be vomiting all over my keyboard during the A.I.'s turn, so I thank you from the bottom of my 50 year old heart! Or, maybe this was your ploy to hypnotize all of us into buying everything your company makes in the future?!? Hmm? Am I on to you? :D

Will this patch also work for the Steam version? I will be buying it on Steam. Will this mess up any Steam auto-updates as you guys release patches?

Also - I just realized your company is ARTIST - ocrats, not ARIST - ocrats. Sheesh! Now I know better!

buy it from here, then you get a steam key as well, so get best of both worlds tbh

it not hard, and this way it so simple, even i can do it, so yes it's idiot proof as i've tested it, and i'm a idiot

Yes, but I will still be playing it on Steam, and applying this patch to my Steam version.

buy from here, get steam key for free with it, play on steam and get updates from steam, or both, that's your call, for me i like the option of having a steam installer version for online home play, and the site version for laptop use with no steam or net access while i'm out and about, best of both worlds then tbh, but your call, just info and choice i'm giving / offering

I get what you're saying, and I appreciate the information. I buy tons of games directly from Slitherine and Matrix Games, and I have received and used the Steam keys for many of them. I may also buy this one from Matrix Games, too.

But, none of that helps me determine whether or not the no-spinning flag patch will work with the Steam version. That is what I asked adherbal.

It should work on the Steam version just fine. Might be slightly more difficult to apply (manually navigating to the folder). Not sure how updates on steam will work but worse case you'll have to delete & redownload the game once we'll do a first official patch. If you need help at any time just let us know.

And that's why you get a pre-release promise that I will buy the game in 4 hours on Day One. :)

Hope I can play a little, I have a cough atm and the nasty late month surprises of a surprisingly high vet bill for one of my cats and my wife's hairdo  were significant enough to allow me the luxury of not waiting to save money for stuff I want.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! I got the game on Matrix Games site. I have just always purchased from their site. I got the Steam key, and I'm a happy camper.

Got a wife, three kids, dogs, majorly allergic to cats, and luckily my oldest daughter is a hair stylist, so my wife gets her hairdos at a discount!

Thank goodness for credit cards when you need them for emergencies . . . uhh . .. games.

Anyways, the non-spinning animation patch works wonderfully, and the game is awesome. I'm a happy old camper!
