Still have money! How good is "Angles of Death"?

Post by FuFuHunt3r »

I got "Vulkans Wrath" as fast as possible and was masively dissapointed by how bugged that DLC was.

To avoid that in the future I would like to use this thread to gather opinions on the new DLC. Is it even worth it? Should I wait until some more bugs are fixed? Are there bugs? What are the main differences to "Vulcans Wrath"? Thanks in advance.

I love the game and would realy like to see some quality content for it. For that I am willing to spend a lot

Bugged? I am Aware of only 2 issues, the main one the Problem with difficulty Level is supposed to be fixed in the last patch (I have not myself tested whether true or not).

I am playing Angels at challenging Level and so far have not had Prestige issues like with Vulcans pre-patch at this Level.

The main difference is that there are more indoor Scenarios, apart from the obvious that you use Blood angels not Salamanders. I think it is worth it.

Starting Vulkans wrath on a higher difficulty was pretty much stealing hours and ours of liftime from me as I noticed pretty late how unplayable it is without any new income. I thought all the time that there would come some kind of suport later in the missions but there was none.

After I noticed the bug, I played on normal (start all over again) and that was just plain boring as there was no challange at all.

All in all that was a huge bug and ruined the hole DLC for me. The amount of time they needed to fix that was as unacceptable for me as the amout of time I "lost" playing it. All in all, I lost my trust in the game and the developers so I need to make sure the new DLC is worth it.

I just played the fourth scenario of Blood Angels and so far I like it very much. Its a little bit easier than salamanders but more athmospheric. The hive scenarios are very dense. Alot of orc infantry units. It feels like one of those heroic Warhammer promo pictures with marines defending strongpoints. But Whirlwinds and devastators are mandatory. Without them, not much chance. :)

Rooting the Green Skins about the Hive is bloody work. But I am purging the Xenos in the fire of Holy Battle. IE What Enpi said. :)

Im playing the "Holding Hades" mission now. Its a claustophobic meatgrinder as you try to battle the xenos inside the Hive.
Quickly the mission changed from Exterminate to survive. The Greenskins pushed the Blood Angels into an ever decreasing perimeter. There were some Hive Militia and Steel Legion troops also. Sadly they were on a different VOX freq and most didnt get the order to fall back behind the Astares in time and were slaughtered.
I havent finished the scenario yet so it can still go either way, but two things have saved my troopers ass so far, Whirlwind artilery tanks, and Dreadnoughts.
Venerable Brother Mittelus shows a particular hatred for the Orcs. They were after all, the reason he was encased in Dreadnought armor. He has inspired the men with ripping, tearing acts of cleansing only grudgingly giving ground to the green filth.

Sounds awesome to me. :D

Hmm yes that fourth mission is a doozy. I'm glad to read people are finding good use for support units, they are definitely a fantastic weapon to employ against the relentless Orkish hordes!

I have just concluded the AoD campaign and I really loved every single scenario of it. Its so much better than the salamander campaign. Especially the last one was cruel but super. I had to attack and defend all these tunnels against many waves of the greenies. :) So thanks Mr. Slitherine for this great playing experience. I hope you will release more DLC. I would love to have massive single player scenarios with with huge maps and dozen of titans on each side and several hundred of units. That would be pure epicness. :)
