7 Days to go: Unit Preview, Engineers

7 Days until release!

Next in line for the unit preview videos is the Japanese Engineers. Suitable for reducing enemy entrenchment levels and packed with frightning flamethrowers which excel in close terrain, this unit also has a whole range of special abilities:

Bridges can be blown up, supply sources can be destroyed, mines can be layed and cleared and pontoon briges can be created. And finally, Engineers will increase the entrenchment speed of all adjacent friendly units.

Watch the video footage here.

Does the terrain system work similar to Panzer Corps? Ie. infantry are best in "close" terrain and armour is best in "open" terrain?

It's a bit more extensive than that: Terrain types have a cover percentage (0 - 100). Many units have two attack values for a specific stat, and the actual value used in combat is based on the cover percentage.

For example a unit with "anti-infantry attack: 6 - 2" will have 6 attack against infantry on open terrain (0% cover), 4 attack in villages (50% cover) and 2 attack in cities (100% cover).
