Different price settings

Sovereignty is a turn-based fantasy strategy game for the PC. It combines a kingdom management campaign game with a general's level tactical battle game.

Different price settings

Post by nikivdd »

When i checked the game on Slitherine and on Steam i noticed a different price setting.
I noticed that the price charged on slitherine is 24,99 euro and charged on steam is 22,99 euro. Sofar i have always bought my titles on Slitherine (and then got the Steam key) and would like to do the same for Sovereignty.
So i would like to learn why is the game more expensive on Slitherine than on Steam?

It's probably related to sales tax in some way or another.

There was a post earlier today about changes to how Slitherine is applying sales tax/VAT, so maybe that is the reason.

I got in touch with Slitherine's marketing director and received the following info:
The price in Euro is adapted to current exchange rate on Slitherine and set by internal Steam exchange rate on Steam, hence the discrepancy. There is nothing we can do about it unfortunately.
At least we know the reason of the difference in price; not that it is going to stop me from purchasing the game ;)
