Grand strategy 3.0 Screen Stability problems
I recently purchased GS 3.0 and am experiencing screen stability problems. In full screen mode after using the game for 15-20 minutes, the screen starts flashing. I am using a MAC running Yosemite 10.10. Other applications are having no problems. How do fix this?

I know there was a MAC Yosemite issue. It was not game related, but how you upgraded to Yosemite.
Pk867 found a way around that so check the forums for posts from him or send him a PM and ask for help.

Thanks. Does Slitherine actually support their games? I'm not sure why help has to come from a forum rather than Slitherine itself.

This forum is monitored by the developers of the Grand Strategy module, so it's the best place to get some specific help and to report bugs.

Hello Mike,
In addition to Paulo's thread, we do support the games, but this is not a bug within the game we can fix. This was caused when Apple changed to Yosemite and this caused some issue with Java. As the game needs Java to run then this causes the issues you are experiencing. The issue is discussed in the Thread below, but the fix is found below that.

Oops. Mixed him up with Rkr1958 (another developer). Correct name is: Pk867Mike500 wrote:No Pkr1958 listed as a member.
He is the MAC responsible for Grand Strategy and not a regular member

Re: Grand strategy 3.0 Screen Stability problems
Most help in games come from forumites and not the official support staff. One reason is that a lot of the questions are related to game mechanisms. Experienced users often know the answer to such questions. Sometimes a bug is not a bug, but actually intended behavior. E. g. possibility to send max 2 airstrikes per hex per turn. The actual value is set in general.txt.Mike500 wrote:Thanks. Does Slitherine actually support their games? I'm not sure why help has to come from a forum rather than Slitherine itself.
You also have to understand that Vanilla CEAW is not played by many anymore. Most players play Grand Strategy and that is a fan created expansion to CEAW. So questions about how Grand Strategy works has to be answered by the Grand Strategy developers.
Re: Grand strategy 3.0 Screen Stability problems
The latest upgrade for Yosemite (10.10.3) has improved the flashing and the game almost plays as fast when using Mavericks.
This is using Java from Apple ( 6.0)
