Tempted
This would have been an instant buy if it used the BA2 engine, I just noy sure if it will work for me with the Panzer Engine.
Feel they missed the making of what could have been a truly great game.
What do you think about the game does it grab the flavor or Epic 40K battles or not?
The videos I have seen, seem to be missing it?
Hoping I am wrong, but will take some convincing.

Re: Tempted
It's pretty damn good. I can recomend it.
The biggest problem is how some units behave very anticlimatic. Aircrafts can't go over cliffs and assaults can't jump over anything at all. Units have a very limmited amount of different roles to play and that hurts the game the most imho.

Buy it!
Some minor points all around, but by and large a great game that has awesome potential.

Re: Tempted
So is it better than Panzer Corps overall or not?

I say yes. While PC was good I like Armageddon much more.

Is it a good game...yes.Larac wrote:

.
Does it capture Epic 40k battles....sadly no. The missions are smaller and severely limited in time and units allowed and therefore 'not epic'.
Fun yes. Epic no.
Re: Tempted
It's not as good as PzC IMO. Was a disappointment for me given the fact I am a fan for PzC and also a tabletop warhammer gamer.
Re: Tempted
Here is what I think of the game.
Its not good due to the fact that they are doing a warhammer game without understanding warhammer game at all.
First - Warhammer 40K army is divided into core, special, rare and HQ and this is because the tabletop game needs a balance and in this PC game without this rule completely broken the entire game. Mass Titan? unless you are doing Apocalypse game.
Second - Playing steel legion without the need of steel legion infantry lol, in my game i use mostly Medusa which again was due to the fact no limitation like the tabletop.
Third - Infantry or core rule of capturing objective which is why core is so important.
Fourth - Infantry transport, might as well embark steel legion in Gorgon transport rather than using them as infantry as the transport have better weapon and range again was a bummer.
Fifth - Assault Marine can't use jump pack and jump? lol might as well don't give them jump packs.
Above is only those things I can remember playing a few games only lol I didn't even bother to play it anymore as its a huge disappointment and imbalance. Can't just use a Warhammer name without understanding the game concept. I really wish the developers spend some time to understand Warhammer tabletop game first, maybe have a discussion session with real warhammer tabletop players to understand the concept. By far most of the warhammer game available to PC is a disappointment with some exception like Mark of Chaos or Dawn of War II.
I certainly do not understand how izzit possible this developer gave us good games like PzC and OOB: Pacific yet create such a huge disappointing game.

Re: Tempted
Well certainly the game isnt perfect, but its not supposed to be a recreation of the tabletop game. It is at its heart a reskin of Panzer Corps, so certain 40K things arent possible within that PzC framework.
But allow me to retort:
You're impression of the game:

Re: Tempted
I agree this could be balanced a little better. On the lower difficulty levels, you have more than enough points to buy all titans. On the higher difficulty levels, this could be possible, but it's much less likely. Probably, reducing the points available and increasing the cost of titans would do this. To me, the balance should be choosing between a force of either four titans, or say 15 other units. Clearly a choice of either 15 titans, or 15 other units, is no choice.simcc wrote:Mass Titan? unless you are doing Apocalypse game.
I wouldn't recommend bringing your three gorgons up near a tank killer. It will kill one or two of your vehicles, which costs you 5-10 of your marines. Having the marines out on their own feet, they might not take any losses. I only use the transports when they are behind the front line for some reason, to catch up.simcc wrote:might as well embark steel legion in Gorgon transport rather than using them as infantry as the transport have better weapon and range again was a bummer.
I agree not every element of the tabletop game is captured. Maybe they will take this feedback and add some new mechanics. But I feel it captures the feel of the tabletop game better than most other PC games.simcc wrote:I really wish the developers spend some time to understand Warhammer tabletop game first, maybe have a discussion session with real warhammer tabletop players to understand the concept.
