Classical Greek list dates?

Post by KingHassan »

Just looking at the Immortal Fire Classical Greeks on page 8.
The Hoplite choices are divided into

Only before 460:
Only from 490:

options.
Is this a typo or am I missing something besides the intervening years?

This is actually an overlap of 30 years.

'Before 460BC' means 460, 461, 462, 463, etc. (up to and beyond 490BC)

'From 490BC' means 490, 489, 488, 487, etc. (down to and beyond 460BC).

That is what I think but haven't seen any other lists with overlaps and could not find it addressed in a search.

It is a deliberate overlap of 30 years to allow for a transitional period.

Thanks for the answers. I was not familiar with that list.

One of the most enjoyable aspects about Field of Glory is the wonder of experienced gamers as they realize it is the worthwhile rules set that we have all been waiting for.

We have another beginner's 1000 point team game in a couple of weeks.
This weekend I helped a friend sort out his boxes of Greeks that were enough to do 2 or 3 armies.
Next week we will organize the opponents' Carthaginians into Early Carthaginians.

Mr. Scott you and your partners have done more for lead recycling than high metal prices.
