My ottomans were victorious against Hrotghar´s Imperials.

I was able to roll up the enemy flanks and break enough units as to avoid having to fight the tercios.

It is time to wrap up all the games you can.

Sometime on April 1 (Texas time on Wednesday) I'm going to post a notice that all game results for Phase 1 are closed and I won't accept any more result postings.

At that point, I will finish pod assignments and open Phase 2 play.

I have the Honour to report that I have finally finished my last game for this round, winning a hard-fought victory over GGaryNorman's Royalists64% v. my Parliamentarians 33%.

It appears that my small flanking force hidden in the woods was able to overwhelm the Royalist right flank and allow flanking/rear attacks which decided the battle.

Personally, I find it hard to fathom why the Royalist player on a relatively open battlefield would not use more of their vaunted cavaliers(aka, horseymen).
But, nevertheless, I am thankful it is so.;)

Hopefully, my score of seven should allow me entry to pod B, though since seeing the 'Invasion of the Bodysnatchers' I am somewhat leery of any type of pod.

Hey now.
Perhaps i do not understand your scoring paradigm, but why, when I am in the top ten for scores, guaranteed for pod c rather than pod B?


I personally prefer a pod where I can play at my utmost level of frustration.:)

batemotel (New Model Army) 19% beat kmaher (Royalist) 48%

The Royalist infantry collpased faster than the Parliamentary cavalry which fought heroically to protect the flanks. Thanks for the game.

I've spotted a couple of situations that might shift "guaranteed berths" when I finally calculate scores on Tuesday. I needed a better algorithm to calculate guarantees. But for the most part they are correct...

Pod 1
batesmotel (TYW Catholic) 39% beat kmaher (TYW Protestant) 61%

The Catholic horse defeated most of the Protestant horse while the Protestant foot did heavy damage to the Catholic foot. The end game was several turns of damaged Catholic horse and foot trying to avoid being shot to breaking while looking for isolated Protetant troops to pick off to take the Protestants over 60%. Thanks for a great game.

A couple of notes re the forthcoming update that comes out at the same time as the expansion:

1) When the update goes live it will no longer be necessary to select Very Wide maps, as Medium Width maps will have width currently specified as Very Wide.
2) The map selection allows Agricultural, Hilly, Wooded and Mountains options. John will need to decide whether any of these are permitted in Challenges.
