inFOG Renaissance P&S units can change formation to square - this option is not include in the game - Was it very difficult ?

Not difficult to implement at all, but further study of the history indicated that it was not so easy for the later pike and shot units to cope with enemy cavalry from multiple directions. Occasions where they did make a stand agsinst enemy coming from multiple directions, such as Newcastle's Whitecoats at Marston Moor, usually involved enclosures of some sort, which gave them something to defend. The ability of earlier units to cope with being flanked (call it square if you like) is already taken into account in the abilities of tercios and keils. Standard pike and shot units already have their historical ability to face off cavalry adequately represented by the turning rules, without allowing them to form square. Some people think it is already too easy for them to avoid being flanked.

If that is not difficult to implement, then you have the road open for a Napoleonic expansion! :)

P&S base engine + unit formations+ leaders = perfect game for 7 years war/Napoleonic (and more) . Finger crossed for me :D

Better start studying on how to Mod the game and then your dream can come true. Actually I would like to see a FOG N version based on the Battle Academy engine as well. It would also be nice to see a FOG A/M variant based on this engine. I think it would make a much better version of the game then the old FOG PC hex based game was. And no I don't know enough to even consider modding anything but I can still dream....

Extremely. They had different developers and so went down an entirely different route.
