Next build and lack of dev support on steam and matrix forum
Its time to show some eagerness to communicate. You have a good game and we are supporting your brand so show us the courtesy to answer our querries. I saw one angry comment in matrix tech support about CTGW from november 2014 and it wasnt replied. I have asked some in both matrix and steam forum but no response. Why bother have these forums open if there no support? You got something right when you create good games but the comunication with us have much to wish for. Been patient but this needed to be adressed.

The new 1.6.2 PC and iOS CTGW is a while now on the Matrix FTP, I hope they send it to Apple next week.

Sadly we found a bug caused by a missing file , so we had to rebuild and check all again, they are now signed off and I hope Slitherine will send all to Apple next week and get approval asap, so we can finally release the official patch cross-platform.

We have to await Apple`s approval and release cross-platform or the cross-platform MP will not work...and we still did some other fixes compared to the 1.6.0 Beta.
I will post a full 1.6.2 asa the patches are out.

Re: Next build and lack of dev support on steam and matrix f
Yesterday Steam users which played your 1.6openbeta received a tiny 3MB update.
There is no documentation to be found anywhere what this patch aims for.
Instead your steam customers had to notice by themselves that
1. Their openbeta installations were reverted to 1.5.2
2. Due to that downgrade their current PBEM games have disappeared
3. beta option in steam is unavailable
By the way any communication before, while or after this step would have been appreciated, especially for those of us who now face broken PBEMs.

Beta testing is over and we expect Slitherine are preparing for the official cross-platform 1.6.2 patch.
Guessing here as we were not informed ourselves.

Re: Next build and lack of dev support on steam and matrix f
Friday is always a good idea as most will then be able to play it over the weekend

Re: Next build and lack of dev support on steam and matrix f
Fridays are tough, for if there are issues with a patch release on that day, those issues usually don't start to be resolved till the following Monday or later... Just saying (That's my pessimistic side thinking)... As for myself... Updates usually go without a hitch (that's my positive side)... Then there is the other one (#*%#).

Re: Next build and lack of dev support on steam and matrix f
Hello, man ol man is it a good day in the empire, well for me that is. I don't spend as much time as i once did on here, checking games, or catching up on the forums. Other things of-course as they do in life, come and go and i find my way back home here and there when i can. Good day to the devs when and where they see this.
Well i remember this game back in beta, was a part of it. At those times i had way more pc time on my hands. I had beta tested a moded project, called The Grand Strategy mod for commander EAW, then Panzer Corps,Commander TGW. It was great. But were talkin back in 2010, and its been now pretty much 5 years or so for this game. I honestly felt really. that this game had been not really priority.( I realize you Devs have same ordeals as us fans. General Life BS,work(other current, planned, games!) amounts of thorns and broken bridges, to your path of success.
While I rant i stress that my whole point in this is for both sides, as the creators and the buyer.
I for one agree that it seemed this game wasn't getting the attention it needs. With lack of any news on a progress of a game, i had doubts yes. Then every very, very so often a update, that yes fixed & added lots of things, would come out. But being someone who actually reads stuff, & remembers, i see big delays had happened and some poor planning.
Early notice about the release of the game to the public, then at some point of production figured it be better at the time, to focus on panzer corps instead. For better or worse it was a great success on your part. Yea it did make Commander fans alittle alone in the dark, but i knew panzer corps was gonna be great, i still have memory's of my old man playing Panzer General, while i watched as a kid, as he invaded France, or Russia, haha.
Now whats disappointing to me, is the fact that your gonna have a topic like this be created, have some people moan, maybe a few groan. Pointing fingers, demanding this & that, wheres this, wheres that. But you know now that this update has been out for a little bit now, not a single word on here again, of any kind. Well how typical, yea maybe over at matrix they might be a little bit more talkative over there, but what no one else, really?
Hey devs maybe you should incorporate ideas like this. There called THE INDIE STONE(think there based out in NewCastle). There a private company. They are very, responsive and active on the forums, even besides the other projects & such they have. Ive been keeping up on this game of there's called Project Zomboid, a Zombie Survival Simulation. Every Monday they do a weekly update they call a Mondoid. They keep in touch letting us know whats happing, what we could expect and all that stuff, sometimes there's not much at all.( IF anyone interested its right here for the news stuff.

Anyways im done ranting everyone have a good night.
