DMP Ostfront 4.12 mod

I have had the first Ostfront mod for several years now and wanted to download the new version on DMP. When I download the file, it has only an empty audio and voice file. There is nothing in it. Also WinZip has trouble opening the file. Does anyone know where I can get a good workable download of this DMP mod?

Hello Flakfernrohr,

I was able to download from DMP no problem, but I've had no success getting my sound and language working. I posted over at DMP as well and Andruil was assisting me but that was last week. I think the problems are being caused by the v1.22 updates. Do you use a steam version?

Unpack with 7zip.

Problems with the Steam-Version 1.23.
Music is in mp3 format, convert it to wav format and it works.
Some move sounds don't work correctly.
They are perhaps too large (greater than 1MB), it may be due?

Thank you guys for the tips. I downloaded the zip files as best I could understand from the website I found from the link. Not sure I got the correct download because now when I try to download the zip file, it brings up the Win Zip window but I am unable to extract them. I will keep messing with it and maybe it will work. The files showing in the Win Zip window appear to be complete but will not extract for some reason.

I GOT IT TO UNLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES, NOW TO GET IT INSTALLED. I am curious to know if I just overwrite my old Ostfront files in the Mods folder and GME. Does anyone have a clue?

"Ostfront 4.12" is an standalone MOD, that includes all previous Ostfront Versions. Before you install Ostfront 4.12, you can delete all older Versions of this MOD!

Hello,

I am still having problems with my sound and language settings in the mod.

How do I convert the sound files from mp3 to wav please?

Is it all the files in \Audio\Voice\*.mp3 and \Audio\Music\*.mp3 that need to convert?

Place the downloaded files anywhere you like on your computer (its standalone), then you need to copy some files from you main Panzercorps folder.

If using steam, then copy the following files into your Ostfront Mod folder:
ms32.dll
steam_api.dll
panzercoprs.exe

If using non steam/DVD version, then copy these files across to the Ostfront Mod folder:
panzercorps.txt
main.xtx
These hold the license details from your DVD game.

This should get your game running, albeit with sound and language problems (like I'm having). See thread above for sound fix (?).

Thank you Prince! Can you tell me where in the Panzer Corps files to find these items? I have looked, but must have overlooked them.

Hi Flak,

If you use steam then the folder is (well, it is on my Win7 computer):

\Program Files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\panzer corps\ms32.dll (steam_api and panzercorps.exe are there as well)

All three files are located there.

If you own the DVD (which I don't) then I guess it is in the \panzercorps folder.

Did you manage to figure out how to convert the mp3's to wav's? Let me know as I don't know myself.

You can use audacity, which is a free and open source audio editor, to open the mp3 files and save them in the wav-format. Download Audacity here. This video explains how to convert multiple files at once. It shows conversion from flac to mp3 but from mp3 to wav works exactly same way, you just need to chose the proper export options.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't use Steam, I have hard discs for all my PZC games. So where do I look on my computer in the Panzer Corps file?

Hello flak, where ever you installed the DVD of Panzer Corps to originally. Like I said, I use a steam version myself. But in the past when I've bought DVD games you can either specify the path of installation e.g. \My Games\Panzer Corps or just root C:\Panzer Corps. I notice from the forum than you have edited or made some unit skins? Or did you use Churchlakecity's units? So when you play Panzer Corps and you want to change a unit, you would look in \Panzer Corps\Graphics\Units, correct? Well look in this \Panzer Corps folder for the Mss32.dll and other files. Then copy them over to the Ostfront Mod 4.12 folder (again where ever to unzipped those files to). Good luck!

Thanks Tarrak, that worked very nicely.

Unfortunately the mod (as awesome as it looks) is unplayable because I still have sound problems...when I move a infantrie battalion I get loud static noise...continuously. In addition the briefings are in German and I only speak English (for shame).

thanks to all for your help (Magic111, Messman, Andruil), maybe one day the mod will be updated for v1.23...well, we can hope anyway.

Happy New Year to everyone!

At the beginning of Rschew-Olenino scenario I've used all eqp cheat code and upgraded all my tanks to SE version, Panzer IVF to SE Panzer IVF and Panzer IIIJ to SE Panzer IIIJ.

Problem now is that I can no longer upgrade those tanks to anything else. Simply, when I select any of those tanks during deployment phase in the next scenario, upgrade button is darkened, game doesn't allow upgrade.

I have tried using all eqp cheat again but that does not help, can't upgrade. I would say that in this mod it is simply not possible to upgrade SE units (this is true for the SE units I have received as gifts during the campaign).

Does anyone has any idea how this might be fixed? If something could be edited so that mod allows SE units to be upgraded?

Try checking the traits for the SE tanks in the equipment file; see if it has "noupgrade" listed. If so, you can remove that trait and it should allow you to upgrade when you start the next scenario. (Changes to the equip file don't take effect in scenarios that are in progress). Be sure to make a backup of the file before editing!
