Aryaman (German Protestants) won 26% vs 54% Moncholee (German Catholics)

Moncholee tried to outflank me with his superior cavalry, but I was able to hold with a combined force of cavalry, infantry and artillery and counterattack with effect.

batesmotel (Bohemian Revolt) 15% beat Susji (Imperial) 44%

The Bohemian Tercios managed to break through the center of the Imperial line while the Bohemian horse got the upper hand versus the Imperials on the Bohemian left flank. The combination lead to a dramatic Imperial collapse. Thanks for the game.

I have decided to end Phase 1 of Caracole II on March 31. Again, I would like to see all games wrapped up by then, but will not accept results after March 31.

On April 1, I will post all pod assignments.

The method I will use is the "alternative" scoring method that considers both wins and winning percentage. From now on, that is the only method I will use for "assignment projections" on that thread.

A long drawn out bloodbath but the massive Tercios finally did their jobs and broke the Imperial forces assisted by their associated skirmishers and horse. The game was nip and tuck after the Bohemians opened an early league and then tightened up until the last turn or two. Thanks for a good game.

My last Pod 3 result:

rbodleyscott (Royalist 1645-1648) (0%) won vs ggarynorman (New Model Army) (1645) (43%)

The defence of a position on high ground by the New Model Army saw the Royalist infantry advancing though a wood and in a gap between two woods. The threat of the main body of the Royalist cavalry kept many of the NMA infantry out of the firefight, which the Royalists eventually won by applying superior firepower including several veteran battalions and light artillery in the gap between the woods, with two squadrons of horse in close support charging any NMA infantry battalion that appeared unsteady.

To add insult to injury, the one Royalist battalion broken by the NMA rallied before the battle ended.

Thanks to ggarynorman for an interesting tactical challenge.

Not sure if this one got reported or not so here goes
Deadtorius 17% Victorious over Egos 48%

Spanish Vs French. I have given up on gendarmes and took extra arqubusiers and light horse in their place. I got an early lucky break when Egos charged two of my arquebusier units and ended up in flank charge position of one of my gendarmes and in rear charge position in front of one of my Spanish Pike units. They didnt last long. Another odd result was a rear charge by light horse into a French gendarme that was fighting one of my units and surprisingly ended the combat fragged. I also managed a few rear charges on his Kiels and finally one of my broken pike units rallied back, giving me extra points and the win.

Bloody battle trying to counteract the superior royalist cavalry. His cavalry tried to get my flanks and open holes in my lines while his infantry along with the Musketeers struggled to push my center . Fortunately I was able to keep my cavalry in good order. Good game ggarynorman!
