I just bought this for my iPad today. I love the concept and it seems like there's an engaging simulation here, but I'm running into a couple of problems.
First is that not all of my researchers show up as available for projects. When I view them in the SET building they show as available, but when I go to HQ to assign them, they don't show up. Instead, researchers who are already assigned to other projects will show as available.
Also, I think there's a bug with the rocket programs. When I started the Jupiter program, the rocket program management window showed me the X-15 project, not the Jupiter rocket. I have to go into the Explorer 1 page and find the Jupiter rocket there to be able to assign researchers.

Re: BASPM iPad bugs
Hello dbreed,
Welcome to the forums. Glad you like the concept of the game.
Regarding the first issue: I'll try to reproduce it here and then fix it.
About the second issue: when you are saying is that when you click the "Manage Rocket Programs" button in the 'Solar System Screen' you get the X-15 instead?
Cheers,

I'm having trouble with bugs too. I'm playing on an iPad Mini Retina with iOS 8.1.3
1) Most seriously , the game becomes unplayable with a black screen when trying to progress seasons after 4 years pass
2) After researching any 3 technologies, I cannot research any more even if I assign SET researchers to them. For example, if I research the the Explorer I playload, Juno II Booster, and then start researching the Thor-Able Booster, these will all research correctly. If after Juno II and Explorer I reach 90% reliability, I then start researching the Pioneer 4 (so 4 of my 7 SET agents researching Thor-Able and 3 researching Pioneer 4), when I end seasons my research progression screen will show Juno II and Thor-Able, with no display or progression of Pioneer 4. I experience this 3 technology issue on both US and Soviet programs.
3) Related to this, if my first 2 technologies are payloads and my 3rd technology is a rocket, and then I open a rocket research program (so a new rocket is my number 4 technology), even after assigning SET agents to the rocket research it doesn't show up under my Rocket Programs. If I open up the Programs folder and select the rocket part of a a current program, I can then assign SET agents to it. However, as noted in point 2), no progress will get made, it being my 4th research technology.
4) I too am experiencing the problem where not all of my researchers show up for projects, unless I remove all researchers from all projects. Then, if I pick researchers in a particular order, I can assign them all, but in a different order, I can't.
Example for problem 4)
I have 4 researchers, Anne, Bob, Charlie and Dimitry.
I am trying to assign them to Juno II Research.
If I click assign Anne first, then Bob, I can still assign Dimitry, but Charlie does not show up any more on my list of agents so only 3 SET agents can be assigned
If I click to Charlie first, then I can assign Anne, Bob and Dimitry , for a total of 4 agents.

Re: BASPM iPad bugs
Same problem.
Concerning the missing scientists I have found a workaround:
Just remove all scientists from a project, then the missing scientists should reappear. It is a lot of fumbling around but no more idle scientists.
More problematic is the black screen. That finished my first game, now I tried a second campaign - nothing. Can't get past 1958.

Re: BASPM iPad bugs
Correct. A similar issue happened again in a different game when I was trying to research the Redstone booster. The Jupiter rocket was researched to max reliability, and the Explorer 1 missions were completed, so I closed both programs, opened the Redstone booster program and assigned researchers to work on it.Nacho84 wrote:Hello dbreed,

When I ended the season, the research progress screen still showed me working on the Jupiter rocket. When I went back to the HQ building and clicked Manage Rocket Programs, it only showed the Jupiter rocket. I was able to close that program again, and after I did that the Manage Rocket Programs button was gone. When I go to the SET building, all of the researchers I assigned to the Redstone booster are still showing up as assigned to that project, but I have no way of accessing it or checking its progress.
Re: BASPM iPad bugs
Hello guys,
I managed to reproduce the issue with the 'idle scientists' on my iPad and created a savefile based on it. Strangely enough, when I test said savefile on my development environment, everything works as expected, so this is going to be an interesting one to fix.
Regarding the black screen issues: I never got those on my iPad 3, neither did the beta testers during the closed beta period earlier this year. Slitherine has ordered an iPad Air for me, which will be arriving tomorrow and will allow me to reproduce the problem and find a solution for it.
Apologies for all these issues, we'll try to get them sorted as soon as possible.
Cheers,

Re: BASPM iPad bugs
I tested a Sowjet-Campaign, there I didn't encounter the black-screen issue. But there are other bugs that make the game unplayable.
Re: BASPM iPad bugs
I've tried this, and sometimes it works, but usually not. I have had a scientist never appear on the selection list, so all I can do is train or fire them.Comguard wrote:Same problem.

Often I notice that when I try to assign a researcher (who I know is available) someone else appears in the slot - usually someone already assigned to a different project. Selecting them swaps their assigned program - even if they're already assigned to the same program (in which case they just swap slots)! Something with how the program tracks who is assigned where, perhaps?
I too have encountered the black screen of death on my iPad Air.
I also have the x-15 program appearing when I press the "manage rockets" button, and nothing else. I once had my Atlas program appear after I'd cancelled the Jupiter rocket....but the next time I went back into the menu it was only the x-15 available again. I have to access my rocket programs strictly through satellite program component r&d, once I assign a rocket.
I'm going to have to stop playing until fixes are in because I can't get past the explorer and x-15 missions without projects stalling or not appearing.
Re: BASPM iPad bugs
Hello guys,
Apologies for all these issues, unfortunately none of them came up during the beta testing. I believe the problem is fixed now, please refer to the main iPad thread for more information. If you're an iPad Mini/iPad Air user, I'd suggest you to wait until the next patch gets released, it shouldn't take long and the experience will certainly be a lot more better.
