Nigel and I are well used to our opponents rolling high whilst we roll low. Whether it is to hit or cohesion.

The biggest enemy to HVY armoured Samurai is HVY armoured Cuirassiers. Fortunately there aren'theaps around, so you can run gauntlet and try to beat up their armoured Cuirassier buddies.

With your list, you will be a target for Hvy armoured Cuirassiers and not have any advantages against armoured. I feel this is not a good option.

Hi ravenflight, yeap your prob right it does use up the figs I have... I have worked out a more sensible version... Taking all 24 hvy bases, another 8 pack of average... Then it's either another foot 8 armd samuari unit, or a skimishable bow samurai unit... Have figs for both.... Tempted to stick with the original all foot options... Full circle...

You shoo;d have your Samurai in 6's not 8's and not taking Heavy Armoured is a poor choice cos cavalry will just ride you down!

I'm going 8s... And have final list going to paint... Has the 24 bases of heavy samurai... Another 8 of armoured samurai and it's just down to 4x bow armed mounted samuari or another 8 of samuari... Have figs for both so will see..

5x BGs of 8x samurai = the 4ft deployment at roll call with superiors , then the ashigaru and hatamoto as second supporting line...

Army Generals (1xIC, 2xTCs) 3 150
1 Average armd spear 8 40
2 Average armd spear 6 30
3 Average armd spear 8 40
4 Average armd bow 8 48

6 Samurai heavy armd spear 8 72
7 Samurai heavy armd spear 8 72
8 Samurai heavy armd spear 8 72
9 Samurai armd spear 8 64
10. Mtd Samuari with Bow 4 64
Or
10. Samurai armd spear 8 64

Just because you can, and doing the norm is not me :)

Not as competative as the normal samuari, but something certainly different...
