Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
I suggest that the teams use their own forums to discuss this, then elect (filthy traitors) or divinely appoint (jolly good chaps) either an individual CiC or list of 'willing' candidates to take the post in rotation.

I put up some stuff for Parliament in the private forum section if those whom God favors want to check it out

Jealousy will get you know where. Perhaps next time I should put a few musket ball holes in your hat that are a bit lower
Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
Update: I fully expect to have received both sets of dispositions by tomorrow and will post the challenge details.

As an America, the map might as well be Westeros.
I'm happy if others from my side are C-in-c.

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
One for Mr. Bodley-Scott - could we have Cromwell removed from the Parliamentary forum and get Ulysisgrunt added? Thanks

Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
Since the map is now available and to add a touch of realism, why don't we introduce a restriction on the distance that commanders can be reallocated to regions. After all no-one during the war would be moved from a senior command in one end of the country to the other end in a turn's time frame. How about if we rule that a general can be reassigned up to three regions away or only two if that involves moving through or into an enemy controlled region (ignoring the status of his present region).

Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
This sounds interesting. Maybe only moved to adjacent? That way you would know about where the hated enemy would be. When I assigned I probably had people up and down and everywhere!!!Ironclad wrote:Since the map is now available and to add a touch of realism, why don't we introduce a restriction on the distance that commanders can be reallocated to regions. Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
Adjacent is more manageable but might be too restrictive. I was going to offer the alternative of 2 or 1 regions, respectively but Rupert and Manchester and company may not make it to Marston Moor in time!

That particular "C-in-C" thread is defunct and locked. The private forum is "Great Rebellion - Parliament" - at the top of the screen in the "Pike & Shot - Tournaments and Leagues" page.Ulysisgrunt wrote:When I try and enter the locked forum each message is "redacted" and I am locked out.

Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
Some good ideas here - I like the idea of moving faster along internal lines, gives strategic value to regions that are key to a faction's ability to move generals. This could also be a factor in allocating 'bonus' army points outside of the region that earns them.Ironclad wrote:Adjacent is more manageable but might be too restrictive. We'll play late 1642 exactly as turn one to give me a bit more scoring data to work with before ringing in wholesale changes. In the meantime, I'll put together some of the ideas suggested in this thread into a rules framework that we can then discuss before early 1643 (which is most likely a couple of weeks away).
Thanks to everyone for their input, it's very useful for me to get outside opinions on where to go with the strategic layer. There may well be a Thirty Years War team campaign in the not too distant future so this exercise is all good to me

Re: The Great Rebellion Campaign
Another possibility for consideration would be to allow either side (or perhaps just the losing one) to voluntarily reduce sentiment by 1 in a region in return for x bonus points.
