What's the most important value for a Fighter escorting a Bomber?

Attack or Initiative?

Why?

Defensive fire always comes first, so for an escort the ability to cause damage is more important than initiative.

So it is doable but I've not seen anything like that as a mod. You might want to try it yourself, it is not very hard to do I think.
