Ultramarines cheaper?
Don't know if this has been addressed before, but why is it that UM units are cheaper than the other SM units?

Devs said it was because they have no specials. Their special is 'cheaper'.Bsoky wrote:Don't know if this has been addressed before, but why is it that UM units are cheaper than the other SM units?

Also all UM units of the same type are less acuate than for example the bloodangles. That's basically why I never get them anymore. Feels like they learned how to shoot from the orks (DAKADAKA WAGHHHHH).

Re: Ultramarines cheaper?
Ultramarines get (generally) 60 accuracy and normal armor, Blood Angels get 80 accuracy and normal armor and Salamanders get 60 accuracy and +5-10 armor, hence ultramarines are cheaper. So, imho, for cheaper units, like tactical marine squad, additional armor or accuracy ain't worth it, but for dreadnoughts, land raiders etc, paying addition 100 req is not a big deal, so might as well get the bonus.
Re: Ultramarines cheaper?
Speaking about differences...why did salamanders get support trait on several of their vehicels ? One would think whirlwinds would support soldiers regardless of their chapter...not sure how I feel about such chapter exclusive adjusments.

Wow didn't notice that. I think the other chapters should game the same changes soon. There was a patch\dlc planned for 17th if i'm not mistaken?

Re: Ultramarines cheaper?
Currently in "stable" salamanders get support trait for rhinos etc, while other don't.
Re: Ultramarines cheaper?
It was in 1.04 patch notes. I was wondering why noone was wondering about that, so had to write it myself somewhere

Re: Ultramarines cheaper?
Salamanders getting a plethora of support units was mostly an experiment for what we are running in the BETA test section. Had to make sure it was working as intended before we made the changes to all the Chapters.
BETA testing is definitely looking pretty good, I personally use a lot more Support units in the BETA test content, partly because the content is geared that way.
In the future, I would expect the Blood Angels and Ultramarines to at least catch up to the experimental Salamander changes. Although it might be interesting to try and move them in other directions too... we'll see what's in store ahead!
