Game Crash

Post by AngryPotato »

Hello.
I am not sure if there is a topic about this problem, but still I will ask it anyway (what worse can happen? :D).
So anyway after introducing patch 1.03 (on 1.02 everything was still fine) I get crashes durning gameplay.

***Unhandled Exception! ExpCode: 0xC0000005 ExpFlags: 0
ExpAddress: 0x00000000 Please Report!

It happens when I am ordering my guys to do something (like move somewhere, attack etc.). It does not happen everytime. Sometime I can play through a couple of turns without any crash and sometimes those happen so often that I am not able to finish even a single turn.
Here are the reports from the log.txt file from My Game>Wh40k Armaggedon

Also turning off the sound effects kinda fixed the issue (the game was playable), but playing without sounds is very dull.

Are you playing the sound via HDMI?
Please post a DxDiag report file.

How to get a Directx Dialog file:

1. click on "START" (on Windows 8 Press "Windows Key" + "R" and go to step 3)
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. open the text file, copy the contents, and post along with your issue.

If this is happening only when you have the sound activated, than it's posibile that there's a conflict between a audio codec on your Windows and the audio library of the game.
Have you installed any codec pack?, like K-Lite?

Unfortunately, Those codec packs like K-Lite often broke Windows codec/filter system when you install them and sometimes it won't be sufficient just to uninstall those codec packs.

You can also check if a third party program is also interfering with the audio library. Try to disable all background programs in case these are interfering with the normal running of the game.
You can do this by running msconfig and disabling all non-windows start-up programs and services.
Then once you have disabled all non-Microsoft services, please run the game and see if the issue persists. If it does not, please then reopen msconfig and reenable those services, one by one, until you find the program causing the problem.
A tutorial on how to do this can be found below:

I try to do that, but this still did not solve my problem.

The programs that were disable and did not interferwith the game (or just disabling them did nothing) from those non-microsoft ones are:
- Adobe Flash Player Update Serive
- AMD External Events Utility
- AMD FUEL Service
- ASLDR Service
- G Data AntiVirus Proxy
- G Data Sheduler
- G Data Strażni Systemu Plików (guardian of the file system)
- G Data Personal Firewall
- G Data Scanner
- Bluetooth Service
- Mozilla Maintenance Service
- Steam Client Service
