This game needs balancing, central powers too weak

Post by ramadawn »

For my first game, I played as the triple Entente. On average difficultly I won the war by 1916 and performed WAY better than I should have.

For my second game, I played the central powers. By the start of this game, my understanding of the game had grown considerably. Yet I couldn't get anywhere near the central powers historical achievements.

Two games, first game well above what was historical and the second; well below.

This tells me the game is not historically balanced.

Keep playing CP, it will come to you on how the Kaiser attains victory, or go MP and I am sure someone will show you how it is done, or at least die trying. Believe, me, you will have a lot more respect for the game in MP.

Hi, I have done some very simple mods and it made the game just like WW 1, with 2-3 infantre deep front lines with artillery ETC. Slow mobility but still a good place for cool tactics.

Add 20 PP to Berlin, 10 pp to Vienna and 10 pp to Budapest. If you want to make it even harder add 10pp to Ottomans. Then change Infantry and Cavalry upkeep to 1. Then I prefer to change artillery to something like 5-7. 5 makes it a bit OP.

Play on balanced for realism, privileged for a challenge.

I love this mode because Manpower actually becomes a meaningful resource. You have to decide if losing men in exchange for advancing the front is worth it. Russia really suffers major losses while France and the UK are not so badly off.

Last game I played was a major stalemate on the West. In the East I rushed Konigsberg and barely held Warsaw, Serbia held out til Jan 1916. But the most fun part was Gallipoli. I sent almost no Brits to the front and spammed transports. Landed like 7-8 infantry at multiple coastal locations, not sure if it was worth the effort though.
