Indeed! A very funny game. I thought I had the victory on my side, or at least I thought I could win the infantry duel due to my numerical superiority... but rbodleyscott moved his skirmishing and cavalry units very well like the master he is and changed totally the face of the battlefield on a single round, while I looked with my mouth wide open. The danish army collapsed and that was all.

Sorry for the delay. I had a long weekend!

I'll choose the catholic side. Game created. Password: gengis

Ulysisgrunt, in order to play the game I proposed you have to create a game, selecting the army you would like to play with and telling me the password. It was this: (30 years war) danish 1625-1629 vs spanish 1621-1634.

Aryaman for some reason I can not get our current challenge to load up to servers. I suggest you set it up and we try again. I posted in tech support about the issue, oddly its the only new game I'm having issues with.

Moncholee (Imperial Spanish ) 37% victorious over deadtorius (French) 61%

Moncholee won the battle of the lights early on and was able to send his own light horse into my artillery as I tried reiters and skipped the light horse, bad idea. The highlight of the game was a Kiel Conga line that involved 4 Kiels that started with 2 Kiels going head to head, followed by a Spanish Kiel rear charging a Swiss Kiel and then an Italian Kiel charging the rear of a Landsknecht Kiel. In the end moncholee won the Kiel lottery as two of my Kiels broke and he only had to finish off my Gendarme for the win.
My Gendarmes even though superior under performed taking numerous turns to finish off enemy units of light horse and light foot in melee  The result of which was the Spanish Gendarmes managed to move into flank/rear charge positions on me while I was occupied.
One major blunder on my part, when you have a unit of enemy horse standing behind your Kiel, dont forget to scroll over it to make sure it really is light horse like you think it is and not actually Gendarmes like it actually was. A simple turn would have put both gendarme units looking at my flanks and would likely have kept that Italian unit in the game a bit longer

Well played moncholee and congratulations. I hope you enjoy your fine Italian wine, just in time for plague season

Battle report (round 1, game 1):

Tiopepe (Spanish 1621-1634) (59%) won vs rbodleyscott (German Protestant 1618-1631) (61%).

As the result suggests, a close and exciting game.
