cav in two line poa when shot at

Post by domblas »

hi fog men
2 questions:

Imagine a Cav BG of 4 bases in two ranks.

Is it possible to shoot at a cav base in the second rank of the BG if it is in close combat to its front. Assuming ur shooting BG is placed properly on the side of the target cav BG.

Does the cav target count as in one rank or in two ranks

No, see p84 - since 2d rank fights in the combat.

If the cavalry formation is more than 2 ranks deep you can shoot at the 3rd or subsequent rank. You would use the POA for shooting at cavalry of the relevant type in more than one rank with an additional - POA for shooting at a BG in combat. I actually managed to do this in a club game on Monday, it didn't help much.
