Hi, i am biting my teeth Out in "typhoon" already, cant really get more than 2-5 VPs as an axis player... For me the 5 turns are over Way too quickly before i can get something productive done; i get Bryansk and Rzhev but as i push forward for more my Time Runs Out...
What are good strategies? Is it better to rush behind the Enemy to Cut him off quickly (Not getting in Lots of battles that'll Slow You down)??
Thanks
Typhoon - some axis strategy tips?
Re: Typhoon - some axis strategy tips?
Now that would be telling! But you're right: cutting the Soviet forces out of supply is definitely better than beating them up.
I suggest taking the Soviet side and see how the Axis AI plays. Or play some people online and learn from them. Also, there is a section under "Help" that gives tips to win.
The game is quite subtle: You'll find that you'll get better over many playings.

One hint: pay attention to the Command Confusion rule and think about how you can use ti to "pin" Soviet units to keep them from moving to somewhere more useful.

And remember that your panzers can make 2-space breakthroughs, sometimes twice in a turn (with prepared offensives).

Ok, i am up to 12 VPs now, still not getting the "W" but close... very fun game, i love it!

Ok, just got my first W with 16 points. Stoked!

Does anyone have tips for capturing moscow in typhoon
Re: Typhoon - some axis strategy tips?
It's usually hard to brute force your way in, but once it's surrounded it can no longer be reinforced or replaced and starts to wither. Depends a bit on luck and the quality of your opponent, but a skillful Axis player can often move around the sides, particularly in the frost turns, when the Axis has a mobility advantage.Best75 wrote:Does anyone have tips for capturing moscow in typhoon

Technically it's possible to do so on turn 2 by making judicious use of prepared offensives and armored breakthrough. In practice, I don't think the attacker can do it, it takes setup by the defender. So I think you will need to win the Typhoon scenario on points.Best75 wrote:Does anyone have tips for capturing moscow in typhoon
Re: Typhoon - some axis strategy tips?
Btw a few of my losses came due to really bad dice-rolls. 3 Tanks vs. 1 russian infantry, a "5" or "retreat" was predicted... and the russian gets out of the jam with like 1 hit... slowing down my plans
