Some suggestions for additional games ( although you are smart enough to already know)
1. D-Day landings
2. Waterloo
3. Dunkirk
4. WW3
5. Battle of Berlin
HLWIII

How about Kursk?

Kursk is a good fit. A positional slugfest like Alamein, so they could probably reuse a lot of the work from there (e.g. minefields). Other WWII battles I'd love to see are France 1940 and Sicily 1943, both of which would fit the game engine well I think.

As for the pre-and post WWII suggestions, I think anything before 1918 (the last WWI battles) or beyond 1973 (Yom Kippur) is probably stretching the basic game too far. Desert Storm or 1980s cold war could probably work with enough tweaks, but for Waterloo they're probably better off working from the Gettysburg engine.

(Wasn't there a separate Waterloo game coming from Shenandoah? What happened to that?)

France 1940 and Sicily both likely. Kursk is a really hard battle to simulate (kinda doomed from the start).

There is a waterloo game in the backlog -- will take a while before we get to it though.

Huzzah! I think they will both make great games, especially since the engine seems well capable of handling special factors (e.g. French C&C lethargy in 1940).

Well so was the Bulge, you could argue. In fact they were kind of similar in that there were unrealistic OKW or "Hitler" goals (crush the salient, cf cross the Meuse and take Antwerp) but reachable smaller goals like cutting off some Soviet units and drawing in reserves (cf the exposed US units at the start of Bulge). It's also similar to Alamein in that it would be a very different battle depending on when it starts due to ongoing defensive preparations.

Does it use the Gettysburg engine or another one?

Waterloo is point-to-point: closer to the Bulge model.

What about Market Garden? Paratroopers...... a race aganst time up a narrow corridor and German counter attacks. Maybe use smaller units, brigade size.

I realize it does not make the most commercial sense, but The Italian invasion of Greece in 1940 ,in terms of how it played out, would be a perfect fit for the crisis in command engine and gameplay...

Similar scenario with Bulge but on a smaller scale..

We seem to have a theme going here, over extend and them get pushed back, which is why
El Alamein fit so well as the next game. For a WW1 game how about Tannenburg. Lots of lakes and forests for a nice looking map. Use rail for fast movement. Cavalry act like the tanks, but without the firepower. Lots of outflanking and encirclement opportunities.
