Hi
Just downloaded the game looks great! Nice mix of scenarios, new unit types, more AI opponents and this is just after the first few mnutes of browsing - the game looks great!
But hey! There is somehing wrong with my sense of direction - Moscow is to the west? The Germans are in the South, no North? Heck, if I try to flip the iPad the whole board rotates and west becomes east and then again west. What the.....??
Sorry, for the confused post, perhaps this design choice has been discussed earlier - but why on earth is Moscow on the lefthand side of my Screen?

What's with the map?

That's why, I guess.

It’s oriented. Which means putting east at the top. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/rea ... -always-up
Re: What's with the map?
Teds original sketch map was portrait rather than landscape. I'd considered designing Bulge in the portrait orientation but quickly realised that it really felt awkward to use and strangely felt quite claustrophobic. So to fit Moscow on a 4:3 aspect ratio, in landscape, it seemed sensible to rotate it. That said I still think its an interesting approach and something I'd like to explore in the future. In the mean time we added this for just such an occasion....

After a few playings I am getting used to the format. I seem to recall an earier game from Atomic Games on Velikiye Luki that used the same orientation - but then I may be mistaken.
Nevertheless - the map is beautiful Now that I don't get all dizzy looking at it.

Oh my. I have an iPad 2 but I'm still not sure I want to risk the upgrade to ios 7. I've seen reports of laggy performance. I've learned to avoid Apple's major OS updates. They've kludged prior generations of hardware.

Hello Kanita,
iOS7 has few issues with the game. iOS8 caused some issues, especially with Desert Fox, but we have now supplied the update to Apple so hopefully this is already ready to download - if not, then it will be shortly. We are looking at revising the code for all of the other games to increase their stability in iOS8, but iOS7 has few reported issues

There is a compass rose in the right corner (I think) that'll show you the real-life north.
But yeah it feels weird not having Germans come from the "left" (West), but when you realise the map is rotated 90 degrees, it makes sense, and doesn't affect game play at all really.
