Question about retreating

Hi all,

I have a question regarding retreating. I play as American, and have the 10 Arm (5 pips) in Werbomont, I'm attacked by the 116 Pz elite (5pips) and I retreat to Ouffet with 3 pips!!. I thought that if I retreat I only had 1 pip.
Am I missing something?.

The Retreat Table (which you can see in the Help section under Charts and Tables) gives the odds of retreat. Units always retreat to save their last pip (if they can), but sometimes retreat in other cases.
