I can see why people are annoyed that backers (especially us outside the US) feel they have a bit of a rough deal - those who haven't backed can just buy the game before we can and for the same price.

Depends why someone backed, if it was to get something earlier, cheaper or for extras then I can see the frustration. I backed the project to help it happen, the delay is minimal - with some boardgame kickstarter projects the backers have waited months after the game was available to get the game, that's really annoying.

I'm not saying be grateful it could be worse, just saying is a few hours, a day, or so that big an issue? Not for me but I backed this because I really want to see decent wargames on the iPad that utilise the interface to its potential, rather than just a port of a PC game, or another risk clone or tower defence game.

Hopefully publishers will learn from this first release, manage expectations, and even come up with other incentives for backing.

But all in all, I'm happy.

Just to let you know that I have recieved my code now and the game is downloading as I speak.

I agree that I never invested to get it early or at a cheaper price.

I still feel strongly that investers should not have to wait longer than non-investers even for a short time. But that's water under the bridge, so no hard feelings. I have the game now and hoepfully it will serve as a lesson learned for the net release.

Cheers,

Nigel

It will indeed. Even if we can't do better in terms of getting games to backers, we can give them a better picture of what to expect. The last 24 hours have been a real education on the App Store process.

I feel Shenandoah have done everything in their power to try and distribute the game to their KS backers in the quickest and most effective manner possible and as a KS backer my expectations have been met.

There ought to be a simpler process but I think that should be the responsibility of Apple and Kickstarter to get together and sort out as they both have a vested interest in making it work as this market is only going to get bigger. Leaving it to each individual developer to try and work through the current minefield is lazy on their part and it's about time they earned their commissions.

In any case well done for what I consider a successful launch.
